NCCF Introduces New Board Members as Chris Schipper Steps Into Board Chair Role

We proudly welcome two new members to our Board of Directors, who begin July 1, 2025. The NCCF board will now be led by former Vice Chair, Chris Schipper, who will step up as Board Chair. The NCCF Board is made up of more than 20 volunteers and civic leaders, who seek to understand and represent a wide variety of issues impacting the local community. The new members are:

Sarah Casey

Sarah grew up in Darien, CT and attended New Canaan Country School and St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH. She received an AB in Political Science from Middlebury College and an MA from Columbia University Teachers College. She taught at the Nightingale-Bamford School in. Manhattan and at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, CT. Sarah and her husband, Alec, moved to New Canaan in 1996, where they raised their three daughters.

Sarah served six years on the New Canaan Library Board of Trustees. She was chair of the Development Committee and served as co-chair of the 2020 Literary Luncheon which was the first ever Zoom Literary Lunch. Sarah sits on the Board of Governors of the Horizons Student Enrichment Program at New Canaan Country School and has co-chaired three of their bi-annual galas. Sarah is a member of Impact Fairfield County, an all female collective giving circle. Previously, she has sat on the Board of the New Canaan Winter Club, The Woodway Country Club Membership Committee, and spent many hours volunteering at New Canaan Country School, Greenwich Academy and Westminster School. Sarah and her husband previously sat on the Parents' Committee of both Middlebury College and Colgate University. Sarah became involved in The New Canaan Community Foundation in 2022 and has served on review committees, worked on Annual Appeal and co-chaired the 2025 luncheon.

Anne Wagner

Anne Wagner earned a B.A. in Mathematics from Northwestern University and an M.A. in Education from Stanford University. She began her career as a mathematics teacher, with positions at New Trier High School in Winnetka, IL, Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, and Polytechnic School in Pasadena, CA.

Since moving to New Canaan in 2006 with her husband, Jim, she has remained deeply committed to education and community involvement while raising their three daughters. She has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Board President of South Elementary School and New Canaan High School. She also served as Board President of the New England Dance Theater and the New Canaan chapter of the National Charity League. At the New Canaan Community Foundation, she has been an enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer. She has co-chaired the Annual Appeal, served on the Spring Luncheon Committee, and contributed to several grant review teams. She is honored to be part of the Foundation’s mission and proud to support its work in strengthening local nonprofits and enhancing the quality of life in New Canaan.
