Come Join Us for the Tenth Annual Vigil

Some traditions grow stronger with time. The Annual Vigil is one of them.

New Canaan Community Foundation is proud to be a longtime co-host of the Vigil, and this year marks a meaningful milestone: its 10th anniversary. Over the past decade, the Vigil has become one of the community's most powerful gatherings, bringing neighbors together in support of those affected by addiction and in recognition of the strength it takes to walk the path of recovery.

Ten years ago, a small group of community members came together with a simple goal: to make sure no one facing addiction, and no one supporting a loved one through it, would feel alone. That goal has only grown more important with time, and each year, the Vigil has continued to bring New Canaan together in remembrance, support, and hope.

A Simple Way to Take Part

This year, we invite the community to take part in a simple, meaningful way: reserve a candle for the Vigil. Each candle stands as a reminder that no one faces addiction or recovery alone, and that New Canaan continues to show up for one another, year after year.

Whether you're lighting a candle in honor of someone in recovery, in memory of someone lost, or simply in support of the broader effort to break the stigma around addiction, your candle is a visible sign of solidarity for our whole community to see.
