John is a lawyer practicing in New York City with DLA Piper LLP (US). He and his wife Susan moved to New Canaan in 2012. They have two children who attend New Canaan High School. John is committed to New Canaan and its community, in addition to supporting organizations that provide legal services to persons in need in New York. He and Susan have been longtime supporters of the New Canaan Community Foundation, the New Canaan Land Trust, the New Canaan Library, and the New Canaan YMCA. John has volunteered as a grant reviewer for the Foundation and watches over the Colhoun Preserve for the Land Trust. John has been a member of the New Canaan Parking Commission since 2025. When his children were younger, he was a coach for youth sports in New Canaan.

John graduated from Dartmouth College and received his law degree from the University of Virginia. He is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut, and a number of federal district and appellate courts in addition to the Supreme Court of the United States.
