New Canaan Community Foundation Announces Multi-year Grant to New Canaan Library

Members of the New Canaan Community Foundation and the New Canaan Library leadership recently gathered to announce the Foundation’s new $150,000 multi-year grant commitment to the new New Canaan Library. Previously, the Foundation awarded $100,000 during the early design and development phase of the Library’s Capital Campaign, so this multi-year grant brings total dollars invested in the project to $250,000. In recognition of the Foundation’s support, the Library will be acknowledging the Foundation in naming of the new staff offices.

“We have been very fortunate to count the community foundation as one of our earliest campaign donors. This wonderful extension of that support reflects the broad base of excitement for the project and comes at just the right time to help galvanize our community as we seek to complete the remaining $5 million of our $40 million fundraising goal by year end,” notes Ellen Sullivan Crovatto, CEO Capital Campaign, Major Gifts and Endowment.

Lauren Patterson, President & CEO of the New Canaan Community Foundation said, “We are so pleased to continue our support of the New Canaan Library’s new building with this multi-year grant, recognizing the important role the Library and its campus play in our community – now and for years to come. Having a new state-of-the-art facility is essential to provide services that meet the interests and potential of our residents.”

“On behalf of our Board of Trustees and the community we all serve, I am grateful for this strong level of support from the NCCF which helps us to move closer to delivering on the promise of this wonderful new building,” commented Lisa A Oldham, Executive Director New Canaan Library.
