The Foundation supports New Canaan students continuing their education through scholarships and awards.
Do you need financial assistance to continue your education in college or other non-profit educational programs?
The New Canaan Community Foundation might be able to help. The Foundation manages a number of scholarship funds established by generous individuals and families. In 2017, the Foundation awarded over $160,000 in college scholarships to 60 New Canaan students and $16,000 in block grants to scholarship programs at local organizations.

- Our largest scholarship program is named after the donor who established the fund. The Sapienza program helps needy New Canaan residents of all ages who require financial assistance to continue their education. Recipients can apply again for subsequent years. - Applicants to the main scholarship program may also be considered for the Dorrico Rotary Award and/or the Silver Hill Scholarship. The Dorrico Rotary Award is for students who have demonstrated loyalty to the community through volunteer service. Learn more about the Dorrico Rotary Award. The Silver Hill Scholarship is for students whose intended field of study in college and their future career is related to health care.
