New Canaan Wine Merchants is hosting a wine tasting event to benefit NCCF. Please join New Canaan Wine merchants and Peter Seghesio from the historically significant wine growing family for a tasting of hard-to-find Zinfadels and Italian varietals.
The Seghesio family has a long family tradition in the wine industry. Eduardo Seghesio moved from his native Piedmont to Sonoma Valley in 1886 and by 1900 was buying his own land, planted mostly to Zinfandel. His great grandson, Peter, is carrying on the estate-grown Zinfandel tradition to this day.
Come join us on Friday March 18th from 7 until 8:30pm at New Canaan Wine Merchants, 36 Pine Street. The evening will benefit the New Canaan Community Foundation. Attendance is limited to 100 people. |

Annual Meeting with Guest Speaker Bob Seelert, Chairman Saatchi & Saatchi, 7pm
Date: January 20, 2011
The New Canaan Community Foundation will hold its 33nd Annual Meeting on January 20th at Waveny House in Waveny Park, New Canaan, from 7pm-9pm. Our keynote speaker will be Bob Seelert, Chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi. Bob has authored “Start With The Answer”, a collection of ninety-four real-life stories from Seelert’s forty-year career as CEO of five companies in three different industries. His book reveals transformative insights and practical instruction for anyone who wants to succeed as an executive, business leader, or entrepreneur. In this highly readable and down-to-earth book, Seelert outlines his strategies, practices, and principle-centered approach to decision-making and problem-solving. Even more important, he shares the wisdom he has gained through exposure to extraordinary people, events, and institutions. Based on his long and successful career, Seelert boils it all down to the eight dimensions of business life every leader must master in order to succeed—preparation, building and managing a career, business strategy, business operations, finance and economics, leadership, culture and communication, and personal spirit and style. As he explores these eight dimensions in detail, Seelert provides a wealth of experience-based tactics, principles, and ideas for overcoming all the basic challenges of the modern business world. With both the philosophy and the nuts and bolts of great leadership, Start with the Answer provides critical insight any aspiring leader can use to succeed in any industry. Guests will also be updated on the past year’s accomplishments of the Foundation and will be introduced to the 2011 Board of Directors. For more information or to receive an invitation please call the Foundation office at 203-966–0231. |
